The Toronto Maple Leafs avoided relegation with a 4-0 win over the Florida Panthers for the first time in a second-round playoff series.

The fourth match played in Florida ended with Toronto winning 2–1, so the wins are now 3–1 for Florida.

Toronto’s star players, who were particularly blacked out in the previous match, rallied when they were responsible for the team’s goals William Nylander and Mitch Marner.

Both also ended their seven-match scoreless streak.

In addition to them, Toronto’s big success was the goalkeeper Joseph Woll, who blocked 24 shots. Woll, who normally plays in the AHL, had to save when the first goalie Ilya Samsonov was injured in the previous match.

Florida scored the only goal Sam Reinhart. Panthers’ Finnish players Alexander Barkov, Eetu Luostarinen and Anton Lundell were left without power points.

The series continues in Toronto on the night between Friday and Saturday, and the Maple Leafs will be facing a must-win at that time.
