Tola conquered gold in a time of 2.06.26 during the Paris Games. Three years ago he also became world champion Marathon and won the New York marathon.

The Amsterdam Marathon is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Last year, Ethiopian Tsegaye Tachew won the match for the second time.
