The former Oasis drummer tells of his past with the band.

Tony McCarroll, former drummer and founding member of Oasis, spoke out of the band in a new interview about the circumstances of his expulsion. McCarroll was part of the group from 1991 to 1995 and participated in the debut album Definitely Maybe, among other things, as well as the singles “Whatever” and “Some Might Say”.

Loud argument as a trigger

McCarroll reports of an incident in Paris, which in his opinion led to a break with Noel Gallagher and ultimately to his release. During a stay in the French capital, he argued in his hotel room with a woman without knowing that Gallagher slept in the room next door, as he shares in a conversation with “The Sun”.

In the subsequent Soundcheck, Gallagher warned him of the gathered crew: “If you keep me awake again, you are fired.” McCarroll reacted with confrontation: “I said that he would never speak to me again.” A few weeks later he received his termination.

“Probably the stupid thing I’ve ever done in my life”

In retrospect, McCarroll is one of the probable stupid things that he has ever done in his life. Although the tone in the band was often shaped by threats, he never expected serious consequences. Since his release, he has had no contact with Noel Gallagher. However, he could imagine a pronunciation.

Tony McCarroll had later sued Oasis and received a one -off payment of £ 550,000 in an out -of -court settlement. He refrained from further profit work.

McCarroll peace offer to Noel Gallagher?

Despite the separation, McCarroll pursues the current developments around Oasis. He already attended a concert by the current reunion tour and described the appearance as “fantastic”.
