The Finnish national team cleared its way to the women’s floorball World Cup final in Singapore.
In the semi-final played on Saturday, Finland beat the Czech Republic 8–2. The semi-final was between twin sisters Veera and Oona Kaupin show.
Veera Kauppi scored 4+1, and Oona accompanied with 1+4 points. For Finland, it was also reassuring that the super promise that was sidelined from the quarter-finals Miisa Turunen returned to the lineup.
The second World Cup finalist will be decided in the Sweden-Switzerland match starting at 2:15 p.m. The final will be played on Sunday.
The last time Finland won floorball women’s WC gold was in 2001. Since then, only silver and bronze have been won in the biennial games.
Sweden has won the world championship eight times in a row.
