In the winter of their lives, Maria Van Dessel (82) and Frans Gijsemans (95) were in town hall on Tuesday. Without rings or bouquet, but with two scribbles and a warm heart, the two promised each other eternal fidelity for the time that remained. “At our age, we live from day to day. I just needed to know what the weather was going to be like.”
