As a child, Jan-Jaap already worked in his parents’ bakery. He made a side trip by working at a restaurant, but melted down when the chocolate machine came into the bakery. “I liked that so much! That’s why I started Chocolate delivery.”

Anyone who is up for an adventure now chooses strawberry yuzu, for example. “Yuzu is a citrus fruit, which is very tasty,” says Jan-Jaap. Still, his favorite is macadamia. “I’m more into savory than sweet. I used to only eat the hazelnut and dark chocolate from a gift box.”
Broken letters
Jan-Jaap lovingly ensures that you can give chocolate as a gift, although he himself has less exciting memories of it. “I never got chocolate for Valentine’s Day. With Sinterklaas I did get a chocolate letter, but it was often broken and never my own letter.”
Luckily he can laugh about it. “I would also only like to get my own chocolate. Just as I only eat the bread from my parents’ bakery. That will be a problem if they stop doing it…” Without his parents, Chocoladebezorgd would never have existed. “I am so grateful to my parents. They have always helped me.”
