In Drenthe, about 60 self-build projects are now ready, under construction or in planning. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has drawn up the Collective Construction and Housing Guide for municipalities, provinces and initiators based on many Drenthe examples and acquired knowledge.
This is a tool for municipalities whose residents want to engage in collective self-construction. The guide contains housing options, policy tips for collective construction, goals and matters that are important in advance, such as quality and feasibility, selection and sales.
CrowdBuilding (which is a non-profit initiative that provides collective self-builders, governments and experts with all possible information about building together and living together) now has a special Drenthe page on their website.
The site is a starting point for self-builders, home seekers, building land seekers, process supervisors, financing issues and has a roadmap if you want to start a self-build collection as a CPO.
The province of Drenthe wants to boost collective self-construction and collective living. That is why the province provides interest-free loans to get self-build projects off the ground.
And a special housing team helps the municipality with complex issues, such as self-construction by residents.
