Tina Nijkamp really goes all out on Lauren Verster. She thinks the fallen TV maker is a ‘sad’ woman, just like radio DJ Ruud de Wild. “What kind of racist bullshit is this on that radio show,” she shouts.
We have only just recovered from the Chinese riot instigated by Tina Nijkamp – she was angry because some Chinese skater at the Olympic Games was always called ‘that Chinese’ in the media – when there is a new racism riot surrounding the Chinese. This time Tina goes all out on the radio set Ruud de Wild and Lauren Verster.
“How dubious?”
Documentary maker Julie Ng has filed a complaint with the NPO after her performance in Ruud de Wild’s radio show, where Lauren Verster was the sidekick. She made a documentary about the impending demise of Chinese-Indian restaurants in our country, and Ruud and Lauren used that to make ‘jokes’ about stereotypes.
Ruud and Lauren mainly focused on the size of spring rolls and the color of babi pangang sauce. “How questionable is this fluorescent sauce on this Chinese-Indian babi pangang?” said Lauren. “I’ve made it myself once, have you seen how many bags of sugar go into it? And then it turns fluorescent. And we all eat that together.”

According to Lauren, you might wonder whether what all those Chinese restaurants serve us is healthy. Ruud: “Lauren wants to know if it is the same substance before you get a CT scan.”
The item was announced as ‘China News’, accompanied by Chinese music. Afterwards they called Julie back to apologize, because many listeners had expressed strong criticism.

TV authority Tina Nijkamp, who has two Chinese adopted children, pukes on the radio duo. “How sad has Lauren Verster (and also Ruud de Wild) become? No more TV show (her programs were ALL ratings flops, a bit of chatter about beauty products and anti-BOTOX to pay the mortgage.”

Tina goes further on Lauren in a second Instagram story. “Zero ratings hits. Zero. No success at Veronica and cutbacks, later given chance after chance at AvroTros without any ratings success. BNR? Not successful either.”
“But racist talk. Probably because she has a manager who is good at the NPO or something like that. Ps. Nobody cares about botox or no botox. So 2017,” concludes Tina, avid Botox user.
‘Good from Tina’
Tina’s rant produces mixed reactions at the desk Show news. “I think it’s very good that Tina is actually so concerned about this, because there are few people who draw attention to this. Tina is one of the few who does this for the Chinese,” she says.
But: “I think it is a weakness to say: ‘Lauren Verster no longer scores’, because then you actually weaken your argument: what you do is very bad radio making.”
Just as angry
Bram Moszkowicz agrees. “I agree with you. Those sneers were not necessary, especially if you are Tina Nijkamp, but what she says in terms of content, she is absolutely right. Even if you do not have Chinese adopted children.”

Guido is also annoyed by the way Asian people are talked about. “That is precisely the community in the Netherlands that has contributed a lot to the economy of the Netherlands, but there has never been any trouble with it. No abuses and a light should be shined on that.”
Sandra Schuurhof thinks it is wrong that Ruud and Lauren have not yet responded to the fuss. “They know full well that they went too far and that it wasn’t funny at all.”
