Due to illness, VfL Bochum has to reschedule against Dortmund between the posts. Due to the failure of Drewes, an experienced Bundesliga goalkeeper celebrates his debut for the last.
VfL Bochum has to do without important top performers in the district derby against Borussia Dortmund. In addition to striker Myron Boadu and several defensive players, Stammentorwehr Patrick Drewes also fails at short notice. “Patrick Drewes is ill, he has deregistered with a fever today and will not be able to play. Timo Horn will be in the goal,” said coach Dieter Hecking before the game on Saturday (3:30 p.m. in the live ticker at T-online).
For Horn it will be the first Bundesliga mission in the Bochum jersey. The 31-year-old switched to VfL in summer after being without a club for six months. In the meantime, he trained with the Austrian champion RB Salzburg. The former Cologne player played over 200 Bundesliga games for his home club 1. FC Köln before leaving the club in 2023. At Bochum, he has only been used in test games so far.
In addition to Drewes, the VfL is missing from VfL: Myron Boadu fails because of a thigh injury that he contracted against Holstein Kiel. Right-back Felix Passlack is also not available after an eye surgery. Maximilian Wittek is also locked yellow.
