What do we get now? De Telegraaf opens the attack on the queen of the queers. A new generation openly asks the question: should we not just trade in Willeke Alberti (80)? “Homo-Oma!”

Willeke Alberti has been the undisputed gay mother of the Netherlands for decades, but in a striking attacking article in De Telegraaf Sounds for the first time something that apparently remained unspoken for a long time: isn’t it time for fresh blood? “Is Willeke not gradually a gay-OMA and ready for replacement?” The newspaper wonders in the opening salinea. Oh dear.

Willeke gone?

Remarkably, the criticism does not come from cynical twitterers, but from the community itself. Younger Queers would not recognize much in the style and songs by Willeke.

For example, RTL Boulevard voice Jeroen Zek in De Vegte says: “If you are now 23 and queer, I don’t know if Willeke and Imca Marina are the ones you would like to warm your heart to, but my generation can only be grateful for what they have done all those years.”

Tap

Get rid of it again and again, live the Tiktok-Reens? According to De Telegraaf, Roxy Dekker is also a serious option. “The names of Chantal Janzen, S10 and Roxeanne Hazes are also reviewed as possibly future gaymoeders. They are all empathetic, funny and bridge builders.”

“An alternative to Willeke Alberti, for example, Angela Groothuizen, who was always an undisputed TV mother and shows himself to be broad-minded, could be. Furthermore, Linda de Mol is called because she started the magazine L’Homo in 2009, which was very successful for eleven years.”

Smell for thanks

All in all, it is thoroughly sawn on Willeke’s chair legs. Apparently the rainbow community would rather see her celebrating the pension party than the Canal Parade.

Isn’t that a bit hard? Jeroen thinks we still have to give 80-year-old Willeke some time. “As long as Willeke is there, she remains the mother of gays.”
