Till Lindemann: Security measures adjusted for Düsseldorf concert

After the protests in Leipzig, demonstrators against his show in Düsseldorf have now announced themselves.

Around 300 people gathered on Wednesday (November 8th) in front of the Leipzig Quarterback Immobilien Arena to protest against Till Lindemann’s solo tour, which kicked off that evening. After demonstrations were announced for his concert in Düsseldorf, the organizer wanted to tighten security measures.

Since May 2023, Rammstein and especially their singer have been confronted with serious allegations. Several women accused Lindemann of sexual abuse. Although the Berlin public prosecutor’s office dropped the case against Lindemann due to a lack of evidence, activists nationwide are calling for his solo concerts to be canceled.

“Systematic protection of perpetrators of sexual violence” and “Solidarity with all those affected by sexual violence and abuse of power” were written on the posters of the Leipzig demonstrators. The feminist group “FemStreik” organized the rally against the Rammstein frontman under the motto “No stage for Till Lindemann!”

Planned demonstrations in Düsseldorf

Now the Düsseldorf alliance “No Show for Perpetrators in Düsseldorf” is also planning a protest against the singer. The association wants to meet on November 10th near the Mitsubishi Electric Hall, where the concert is to take place. “Together on the streets for a society without attacks and abuse of power,” says the announcement on an Instagram post. And the organization “Feminist Fight Day Ddorf” is also planning a demo near the location.

Adapted security concept of the organizer

In response to the protests, the show organizer is now speaking out. “Crowd management is our top priority in all of our venues; the safety of our visitors is the most important thing for us. In order to protect our guests as best as possible, we implement appropriate measures for all events in our venues. These will also apply at Till Lindemann’s concert,” a spokeswoman boldly said to the news website “Tonight News.” A concrete measure is the offer of help for victims of sexual harassment “Luisa is here!”, for which “a briefed and trained security service staff” is responsible. In addition, a mobile awareness team is on site as a contact person for those affected.

Till Lindemann recently released his solo album ZUNGE. On his tour he will be on stage in several German cities – including Düsseldorf, Bamberg, Frankfurt am Main and Kassel – as well as abroad.
