THW Kiel continues to advance

The THW Kiel continues to make progress after overcoming its autumn low. The defending champion and record champion celebrated their sixth competitive win in a row with a 40:32 (22:19) win at ThSV Eisenach on matchday 17 of the Handball Bundesliga.

In the table, THW is two points behind the top duo from Magdeburg and Berlin, who still have two games in hand.

Niclas Ekberg, who will be leaving THW at the end of the season after twelve years and returning to his native Sweden, was the most successful shooter with seven goals in front of 3,150 spectators.

In the second game of the day, HC Erlangen beat TVB Stuttgart 30:29 (15:14) and overtook the Swabians in the table. Stuttgart is now in the last non-relegation zone.
