On Sunday afternoon, three young men are said to have hit several people in an S42 S-Bahn. Since one of the attackers lost his mobile phone at the scene of the crime, the federal police managed to identify all suspects in a short time.

At around 1:30 p.m., a verbal argument between a group of young people and a family is said to have initially occurred on a ring road on line S42. The three young men are said to have hit the family members together before they fled when they stopped at Frankfurter Allee S-Bahn station.

A 55-year-old and a 26-year-old suffered abrasions on their faces, a 47-year-old had hit the head several times with punches. When emergency services arrived, the woman passed out and was taken to the hospital.

Federal police officers secured a cell phone that one of the attackers had lost while escaping. In the course of the evening, several people appeared at the Berlin-Lichtenberg federal police station to pick up the lost mobile phone.

Three Syrian nationals aged 18 and 19 were identified and named as suspects.

The investigations are ongoing.
