Three minors arrested after street robberies in Hoorn

Last Thursday, the police arrested three underage boys from Hoorn, Medemblik and Amsterdam on suspicion of two street robberies in Hoorn. Three underage boys were also robbed of their property under threat.

The first robbery happened around 2 p.m. on the Veemarkt. An underage boy was being chased by three peers at the time. Once he arrived at the Nieuwe Noord, he was robbed of his property under threat. The victim was also hit in the face.

Two women saw the robbery and ran screaming to the suspects, after which they fled towards the Gedempte Turfhaven.

The second robbery took place ten minutes later at the station. Two underage boys were also robbed of their property under threat. One was hit in the face several times.

Attentive conductor

The alerted police managed to arrest the three suspects shortly afterwards at the station, after an attentive conductor told the police officers that the suspects had boarded the train.

All three suspects are still in custody and have now been brought before the examining magistrate of the court in Alkmaar. The police are still looking for witnesses to the street robberies.

Not the first time

It is not the first time that a street robbery has taken place in Hoorn. On October 31, there were also three underage boys from Amsterdam arrested on suspicion of a robbery at the Veemarkt. Then two underage boys were threatened with a knife.
