Three men released, but Jordy from Emmen still a suspect in the case died

Three of the four men arrested for possible involvement in the death of 35-year-old Jordy last weekend have been released. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has announced this. They are still suspicious.

A 23-year-old man from Emmen will be detained for fourteen days longer. That is what the examining magistrate decided today.

The Emmenaar was arrested shortly after Jordy’s death and is suspected of possession of weapons, trafficking in narcotics and theft. It is still not known how Jordy died. He was found lifeless and ‘under suspicious circumstances’ last Saturday morning in the hallway of an apartment complex on the Hunenbaan in Emmen.

On the same morning, three suspects aged 23, 22 and 20 from Emmen were arrested. A fourth suspect, a 23-year-old man from the municipality of Midden-Drenthe, was arrested on Tuesday. The investigation into the death of the 35-year-old Emmenaar is still in full swing. The OM has decided to release three of the four suspects. They are still suspected of involvement in Jordy’s death.
