Within ten minutes on Tuesday, three motorists had to surrender their driver’s license. It happened during a speed check on the Wildsedijk in Maren-Kessel. On the road the maximum speed is 80 kilometers per hour, but speeds of 138, 147 and 150 km/h have been measured by these road pirates.
The police checked there for a reason. “It is a well-known location of ours where people sometimes have difficulty adhering to the speed limit.”
In the Netherlands, your driver’s license is taken away if you have driven more than 50 km/h too fast.
