The United States has won a heated ice hockey duel against arch-rival Canada at the four-nation tournament. The game was all about the current political tensions of both countries. With the opening bully, US international Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Hagel immediately delivered a fight. After that, two more fights occurred within the first nine seconds of the game, including Tkachuk’s brother Brady. Both then clapped on the penalty bench.
The ice hockey stars from the USA prevailed 3-1 (1: 1, 1: 0, 1: 0). Connor McDavid put the hosts in the lead, Jake Guentzel with two goals and Dylan Larkin turned the game for the US team. After two victories in the first two games, this is already determined as a finalist. Canada is tied with Sweden and Finland. The last two games and the final take place in Boston. The four-nation tournament will replace the classic all-star weekend of the NHL this year. Many top stars from the world’s best ice hockey league take part.
While Andreas Wellinger in Japan was able to provide a German bright spot in Japan, Pius Paschke was the opposite. The 33-year-old missed the final round as 31 and travels to Trondheim with little confidence to the title fights (February 26 to March 9). Read more about jumping in Sapporo here.

The political tensions between the USA and Canada have also been transferred to the new four-nation tournament in ice hockey. Before the 6: 1 of the Americans against Finland, “The Star Spangled Banner” was accompanied in Montreal von Buhrfufen. Previously, the indoor spokesman at Bell Center had asked the fans in the Canadian metropolis to show respect when playing the hymns.
German Lena Dürr also performed well with the sovereign gold success of the Italian Federica Brignone. In the end it was enough for the top 10. All information here!

A World Cup organized by the NHL is to take place in three years. The North American professional league Snoch wants to communicate which ice hockey nations in 2028 will be there after a twelve-year break. “International competitions at the highest level are very important for our players-their countries on the ice is in their DNA,” said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on the sidelines of a current four-nation tournament.
