Three fatalities in fire in Alicante, fifteen others injured and taken to hospital | Abroad

The emergency services received a report around 2.15 am, reports the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE. The fire was extinguished around 7:30 am. The dead include two adults and a minor. About fifteen people were treated because they were overcome by the smoke. Among them was a police officer who was treated at the scene, the others were taken to hospital.

About two weeks ago, another fire in Valencia, Spain, 150 kilometers further north, claimed ten more lives. At that time it was a complex with 143 apartments. The flames spread rapidly. As possible causes, reference was made to the plastic cladding and strong winds.
