The two pilots of the fighter-bomber that crashed in Russia on Monday evening were able to get themselves to safety with ejection seats. Images of one of the soldiers are circulating on the internet. They show how the pilot lies down next to his parachute near the crash site just after the disaster. A “technical defect” is at the root of the crash, it has become known in the meantime. At least 13 people, including three children, were killed in the disaster.
