‘With the right sprinkler, everything gets wet!’, is stated on the company bus of R&R irrigation installations from Lage Zwaluwe. The company is one of the three Brabant nominees for the worst slogan of 2025. “It just depends on how much you think about it yourself,” says co-owner Rik Kerremans on Friday morning in the radio program KEIgoeiemorgen! from Omroep Brabant.
For the fourteenth year in a row, the election of the worst slogan will be held. The irrigation installation company already received all kinds of messages about the nomination on Thursday evening. “Hey, who sees something familiar, said customers,” says Rik.
Had to stick around
Together with his partner, he spent a lot of time thinking about a catchy slogan for their company. It had to ‘stick’. That appears to have worked out quite well, now that they have been nominated. “At first we thought, ‘Is it possible? Isn’t it too well thought out?” he says. On the other hand: “It just depends on how much you think things through. You’re making a mistake yourself, so to speak.”
The company from Lage Zwaluwe is not the only Brabant contender. A tiling company from Tilburg also has a pretty bad slogan, according to the ‘expert jury’ of the Netherlands’ Worst Slogan Election. That company drives around with ‘Sometimes it’s all right, sometimes it’s bad’ on the back of the bus.
The same applies to BLOOMING Oosterhout, with a modern apartment complex for seniors: ‘OK BLOOMER, this is the apartment where you WANT to be found dead.’
Positive reactions
The slogan of R&R irrigation systems always causes many reactions. “It sometimes happens that people stop and take a photo of the bus. The reactions are always very positive,” says the co-owner enthusiastically. “Yes, it still sticks.”
Anyone can to vote on the worst slogan until December 18th. The results will be announced that afternoon.
