In Suriname, the funeral of former president Desi Bouterse (79) has started amid great interest. The hearse with Bouterse’s body in an open coffin left on Saturday morning local time with a funeral procession to the party center for the farewell. Thousands of supporters stand along the side to pay their last respects during the forty kilometer journey.
