Thomas van Groningen regularly shows himself as sharp as a knife in the Oranjezomer and he even got Victor Vlam silent yesterday. “If someone doesn’t have to judge people with appearance!”
There is really no one who misses Johnny de Mol as a presenter of the Oranjezomer. In fact, his successor Thomas van Groningen is doing much better as a substitute for Hélène Hendriks. His interview style looks a lot like that of Wilfred Genee: he is fast, ad brake and occasionally dares to be quite strict for his own studio guests.
“Do normal!”
Victor Vlam now also knows what that is like. He was cracking the endless cycling blocks in talk shows yesterday. “I think that those cycling blocks indeed take terribly too long in all the talk shows. It is a niche sport, guys. Some people think it’s fantastic and that is awarded you, but a lot of people don’t like it.”
He continues in The Oranjezomer: “So I was watching the Netherlands in a good evening, and I saw it: Thomas Dekker. Just in front, we also made a screenshot of it, ladies and gentlemen … he was in dungarees; I already think that is a problem. He was there with lacquered nails. I think to myself: do it normally.”
Caper
The hair of Thomas did not look, says Victor. “Yes, he could have been to the hairdresser for a while, I found personally.”
Table guest Ben van der Burg: “Well, come on!”
Host Thomas van Groningen may come out of the corner very spicy: “Well, if someone does not have to judge people by appearance, is it you?”
It leads to applause in the studio. Victor: “Why can’t I judge people by appearance?”
“Is this necessary?”
Thomas thinks it faints Victor. “Is that really necessary? Isn’t it about what he says?”
Victor: “So I think people should do a bit normal, because that is behind this. I always think things like this are a bit of attention, but the point is indeed justified: if we look at the content … It is often very specific with terminology such as demarter and the like.”
He concludes: “They are going to make a lot of factual knowledge and I think: a lot of people just don’t find that interesting. Keep those things shorter, also in this program!”
