Thomas Gottschalk reveals “Wetten,dass..?” guests

For almost 25 years, Thomas Gottschalk moderated the Saturday evening program “Wetten,dass..?” – with interruptions by Lippert and Lanz. Now it’s supposed to end on November 25th. The station has so far kept secret what you can expect from the final show. But the entertainer was once again in a chatting mood and – unofficially – already announced some of the guests who will support him on his last broadcast.

In his podcast “Die Supernasen” the presenter discusses with Mike Krüger the new phenomenon that iconic artists like Otto Waalkes work with newcomers like Ski Aggu and are thus celebrated by the young generation. Krüger then asks: “And that’s what Helene is doing with you now with Shirin David?” The comedian, who became known for the show “7 Days – 7 Heads,” among other things, is alluding to the upcoming “Wetten, dass..?” -Shipment to. Gottschalk then blurts out the appearance of Helene Fischer and Shirin David: “I don’t know whether she’s rapping, but I know they’re performing.”

However, after this information, the entertainer doesn’t stop gossiping. The TV team would like to win Apache 207 for the show, as would pop star Cher. While the German rapper actually “demonstrably does not appear on television” and the production is still hoping for an exception, the appearance of the “Believe” singer is apparently a done deal. “Cher is coming at the moment,” Gottschalk clarifies. Who else will be on the guest list is currently unknown.

The reason for his abdication is that he is no longer up to date and that “his generation” has “finished off,” said Gottschalk in the past. He would end the show “because I say things as unfiltered as they come to me. Today you always have to build safety filters into your thoughts so that they don’t blow up in your face. And this filter also creates room for interpretation that you don’t actually want.” How the show will continue after him is still unclear. What is certain is that Gottschalk will host the final broadcast in November alone and not – as usual – with his co-host Michelle Hunziger.
