Midday COPE talks to two experts in Cabañuelas
Jorge Rey predicts that January will start with some rain
2022 says goodbye as the warmest year of the entire historical series, with a temperature 1.6 degrees above average. However, noon COPE has been able to speak with two experts in cabañuelas, George King Y Alfonso Cuencaand they have the feeling that 2023 will start radically differently to how 2022 ends: with rain and snowfall in much of the interior of the peninsula.
George King explain what “January will start with some rains, although perhaps they will be a little further away from having them in abundance. But from Reyes, there will be a significant change in the weather, and there may be snowfall even in the interior of the peninsula“. For him, 2023 will be a year “loaded with a lot of snow and water”which he considers very good news since the drought has not disappeared.
Alfonso Cuencaan expert in cabañuelas from Jaén, has decided to go beyond January and assures that “in March and April we will expect generous rains“. In the first two months of 2023, on the other hand, water will be rather scarce. He looks at the color of the clouds to predict the weather in the medium or long term, and ensures that he is almost always right.
