The American Mikaela Shiffrin celebrated her 78th World Cup victory in the giant slalom in Semmering. The competition had to line up behind them.

In bright sunshine, the first giant slalom at the World Cup stop in Semmering, Austria, took place on Tuesday (December 27th, 2022).

In the first run, all-rounder Mikaela Shiffrin had already set the target time with ease. At the alternative date for the canceled race in Sölden, the American showed once again that she can not only outperform the competition in slalom. In the final, too, the 27-year-old left no doubt that she wanted to celebrate her 78th World Cup victory on the Zauberberg. Shiffrin’s total time of 2:07.18 minutes could not be topped by the competition. For the technical specialist it was already the fourth success in the young season.
