It’s time again to choose the best hamburger restaurant in Finland. Burger Lovers
Today, Monday, the public vote for Finland’s best hamburger restaurant starts.
The winner of the vote will be announced nine days later at the Burger Lovers festival in Helsinki. This year, the hamburger festival, which has become the largest in the Nordic countries, will be held for the seventh time.
Even in small towns, the level is tough
The festival features both well-known burger favorites and newcomers from the provinces.
– The Burger Lovers festival has grown into an annual showcase of Finnish burger culture and a meeting place for lovers of good food. At the event, it is easy to test the secrets of the popularity of different restaurants and to be convinced that great flavors are created in smaller towns as well. A burger is no longer fast food, but a real source of pride for many restaurants and an authentic handcraft product, says one of the founders of the Burger Lovers Finland community Antti Suikkari in the bulletin.

The festival will feature a lot of new burger offerings this year. Included are, among others, the currently opening domestic Dust & Fry chain, Tislaamo Burgers & Cocktails from Helsinki, Eepin Diner from Mikkeli, Fisuburger from Kangasniemi, Greasy Spoon from Kuopio, Hiidenvesen Grilli from Lohja, Harri’s Food Factory from Varkaus, J&S Burger from Ii, Kaksi Kundia Burgers from Rauma, Street Boys from Kouvola, JJ’s BBQ from Salo and Grill Room from Hankasalmi.
According to Suikkar, the task of restaurateurs is demanding, as thousands of diners put the chef and the kitchen to the test. He reminds that moving the entire restaurant operation to the festival requires a lot of work, starting with the logistics of the raw materials.
Double winner from Hankasalmi
Last year, Finns cast more than 17,000 votes, and Hankasalmi Grill Room was crowned the winner for the second year in a row.
Previous winners have been JJ’s BBQ from Salo and The Van – Street Food Factory from Kotka.
The vote is based on the list of the best burger restaurants in Finland maintained by the Burger Lovers Finland community.
Voting ends on Sunday, June 7. The winner will be announced on the eve of the Burger Lovers festival on June 9.
The burger festival will be held at Rautatintor from 10 to 13. June.
