For the anniversary celebration of FC Bayern Munich, several former stars were also seen. One was particularly noticeable due to an optical change.
FC Bayern Munich celebrated its 125th anniversary-and several sizes from club history were there. In addition to current stars like Manuel Neuer, many former players also caused a sensation. One of them: Samuel “Sammy” Kuffour.
The former defender, who played a total of 277 competitive games for Munich between 1994 and 2005, presented himself with a changed appearance. With gray hair and full beard, dressed in an elegant blue jacket with a yellow, patterned pocket cloth, Kuffour combined his outfit with a white shirt, a bright tie and silver -gray pants. Black glasses rounded off his look.
Kuffour won six championships with the Bayern, four times the DFB Cup and triumphed in the Champions League in 2001.
The anniversary celebration of the record champions took place on February 26th. Moderator Günther Jauch led through the evening, in which 597 guests took part. Ex-Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge paid tribute to the development of the club with the words: “The baby has become a proud adult. These eleven, who founded the club at the time, have come up with something special with the name Bayern Munich, because everyone knows where the club is.” What has happened in the club in the past 50 years, “you can only do the big hat for that.”
