The change itself was no longer such a big surprise, RTL/ntv and sport.de We already announced a few days ago that this was coming up. For Mick Schumacher, who, like Bolle, is happy that everything worked out, this is a huge step towards becoming an independent personality, out of his father’s shoes, out of his father’s shadow, and into his adventure in America.
However, he will remain the center of his life at home in Europe. That means he will do it like a Formula 1 driver and travel to the IndyCar races and then back again. With all the highlights that are there.
He is really looking forward to the oval tests that are to come. You shouldn’t forget that there will probably be snow in Indianapolis by then. The Rahal team will therefore rely on good weather so that Schumacher can fly over and test.
There is still a lot of simulator work waiting for Schumacher for the IndyCar start
However, due to testing restrictions, he will not be able to do everything on the track and try out what he wants. He will also have to gain a lot of experience in the simulator, especially with the courses.
For Schumacher it is ultimately the dawn of a new era. You can tell that too. He is brave and did not follow the advice of his uncle Ralf Schumacher, who advised him against it, but instead took the risk of going all out on tracks he didn’t yet know or in oval races. That’s a brave step as a racing driver, not everyone does that.
All doors will be open to him next year. It really burns. He will prepare himself well for each journey, he will loosen up even more in America because this American way of life is good for him to get out of his father’s shoes and establish his own identity.
