‘This is very painful’

The channel top of SBS 6 apparently has little faith in Jan Versteegh as a presenter of great entertainment, says former channel boss Tina Nijkamp. “He is now being passed again.”

Wendy van Dijk gets another dating program on SBS 6. After the flopped Cupido Ofzo with co-host Leonie ter Braak and the equally poorly viewed Flirty Dancing with Juvat Westendorp, she now comes with Liedje Op het Eerste Sight. This program revolves around singles who sing a duet on their first date. They don’t see each other until halfway through the performance.

Clap Jan’s face

It is striking that Wendy will present this new program with Edsilia Rombley, while she is not a regular face of SBS 6 at all. It must feel like a slap in the face for Jan Versteegh, says Tina Nijkamp. She should know, because she has been the channel boss of SBS 6 for years.

Jan still presented the dramatic Dance Marathon with Wendy in 2021, but for this new job he will be passed over. “Jan Versteegh has again passed by to present a new grandiose prime-time entertainment show on SBS 6,” says Tina in her Insta stories.

‘This is painful’

It is now Jan’s colleagues who are constantly winning prizes, says Tina. “After Britt Dekker (Ministars), Edsilia Rombley is now Wendy van Dijk’s presentation partner. Painful for Jan Versteegh, whose contract was recently extended. However, a new freelancer has now been chosen, Edsilia.”

Tina: “Remarkable, because extra costs for SBS 6 and Jan will continue to present only Lingo for the time being. ouch. Hopefully for Jan there will be another chance soon.”

Jan responds

After the delivered post from Tina, Jan suddenly says the following on Instagram:
