Working as a meteorologist in Yle Aleksi Lohtander reveals in the fresh Instagram-in his publication, how much does a meteorologist working on television earn per month.

If the publication is not visible, you can view it from here.

Lohtander substantiates his story with a few facts. Lohtander says that meteorologists work in shifts, so the salary is based on the basic salary and various shift allowances.

– So our monthly results vary quite a lot depending on what kind of shifts we’ve had and how much extra is paid in which salary.

– As a rough estimate, my monthly salary is between a little over four tons and a little over five tons, Lohtander says in the video.

Lohtander says that he earns approximately 60,000 euros a year.

– Of course, I’m not talking about other people’s salaries in this video, he elaborates.

Lohtander encourages people to openly talk about money.

– I think salary transparency is a good thing, and on the other hand, in the afternoon newspapers, these meteorologists’ tax information is in any case every year, Lohtander ends his video.

Lohtander started his work as Yle’s meteorologist in the summer of 2023. The club wrote about his career in July 2024.

Lohtander was Yle’s youngest meteorologist when he started.

– Life hasn’t changed terribly, and that’s a good thing. I don’t need publicity in everyday life, Lohtander described in Seura.
