New drummer, new songs
In mid-September 2025, the Foo Fighters gave their first concert with new drummer Ilan Rubin. The former Nine Inch Nails drummer joined the band in the summer after the group parted ways with Josh Freese, who stepped in following the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.
At the beginning of 2025, the band released new music for the first time since the album “But Here We Are” (2023): the new track “Today’s Song” and a cover of the Minor Threat classic “I Don’t Wanna Hear It”. Most recently, the single “Asking For A Friend” followed.
