Singer and guitarist Joel Hokka leaves Blind Channel. The band announced this on social media on Saturday.
The bulletin stated that the decision to leave Hoka had arisen in agreement and does not affect friendship between members. The band, which is currently on the break, will continue with five members.
“The last five years have been driving me to my extreme, and constant union problems have made touring impossible,” Hokka explained in the release.
The band took a break late last year. Even before his break, Hokka, who is now leaving the band, was quite alarmingly depicted in the middle of a tour. Last fall, Hokka distributed his diary entry to Iltalehti, made by flight from Tokyo to Helsinki.

Hokka and Niko Moilanen said in an interview with Iltalehti that the latest Exit emotions -At the time of making the album, the band was “in some way in a kind of psychosis.”
Although the proposal came from a record label, the idea of a break may have been in the back of the Blind Channel members.
– The album was made in the midst of hectic hurry during hectic tours and between. This time it was also written by exceptionally many outsiders. We learn a lot. We made the album so we could get more, Hokka said.
“Instead of happening to Alexi Laiho, Avici or hundreds of other rock stars, you can do so and take a break,” he compared at the time.
The proposal from the record company was particularly suspicious of Hokka. He told Iltalehti that he was thinking about what if people forget the band or the return would not be of interest to the audience.

When Iltalehti asked what the band’s members were going to do during the break, Hokka’s answer was related to his health difficulties.

Founded in 2013, Blind Channel represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The band finished sixth in the competition and has since toured around the world. The band is on a break.
