However, the Helmondse did not receive an invitation to come along. “During a training camp in Curaçao I ran a bowel inflammation. I had to recover for a long time. Unfortunately I was not fit for the Games on time. You look forward to a tournament for so long and work so hard for it that it was very painful that I had to stay at home.”

“In the beginning I had a hard time with that and I sat down. In the end I turned the button thanks to my parents, coach and a mental coach. I also learned things from it. As a athlete I stay critical and I have the same goals, but I don’t get stuck for too long in possible disappointments. I appreciate the things that run in the world and I meet. to report?”

The training work of the former hockey star has been rewarded with a ticket for the World Cup Estafette in the Chinese Guangzhou next Saturday and Sunday. In it she comes into action on the 4×100 meters women or 4×100 meters mixed relay. “I was once reserve at the European Championship, but this will be my debut at a big tournament. The trip to China may have consequences for her laws in law at Utrecht University. “I got my thesis, but I still have to get a few more courses to complete my bachelor. It could therefore be that I have to do a part next school year. I would also like to start with my master criminal law with specialization in forensic psychiatry and psychology.”

Her wish is to become a lawyer in the future. “I find the criminal law super interesting. The combination with top sport is nice, because the training ensures relaxation and I get energy from it. Fortunately, the university is flexible and can I do a lot online. I try to choose my studies for my studies around running. Planning time for social contacts is difficult. Sometimes just drinking coffee with a girlfriend, I think that is important.”

“I am completely free what I post, I just do something.”

The Helmondse first also had a part-time job in a running store, but now she earns money with her social media accounts.
