Thirty arrested for stabbing in Zeebrugge

The facts took place on Monday around 4 p.m. in Groenlandstraat in Zeebrugge. A 33-year-old man attacked his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend on the street with a knife. The suspect fled, but was apprehended by the police a few hours later. The victim’s life was not in danger. After questioning, the man in his thirties was brought before the investigating judge by the Bruges public prosecutor’s office. He decided on Wednesday to arrest him on suspicion of attempted murder, stalking and threats. On Friday morning, the Bruges council chamber will judge whether or not he should remain in prison longer.
