Third Anniversary: The Prodigy pay their respects to Keith Flint

To mark the third anniversary of his death, The Prodigy have paid their respects to their late frontman Keith Flint. Flint died by suicide on March 4, 2019 at the age of 49.

Like last year, The Prodigy shared a tribute to Flint on Twitter, expressing their respect and appreciation.

The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett and Maxim shared three pictures, including one of Flint on stage, and wrote, “It’s been three years… We miss you every day bro but we always feel you on and around us.”

A mural honoring Flint was unveiled in Hackney, east London last September to mark World Suicide Prevention Day 2021.

The crowdfunded artwork was created by street artist Akse in collaboration with music and mental health festival Headstock.

Liam Howlett of The Prodigy said of the mural: “Respect to all who have come together to make this happen for a cause that is so close to our hearts. Akse has made Keef proud.”

Headstock founder Atheer Al-Salim added that Keith Flint was a true pioneer of electronic music. He’s been lucky enough to see him perform with The Prodigy on a few occasions.

“Offstage, Keith struggled with his mental health and he was open about his ‘dark periods.’ Tragically, this culminated in his taking his own life. We created this mural to commemorate Keith and ensure his flame continues to burn bright – but also to raise awareness of Shout 85258 and the incredible 24/7 text support service it offers. We hope the mural helps everyone who sees it to know that confidential support is just a text message away.”
