A 34-year-old man tried to steal a gaming computer from a store on the Ekkersrijt industrial estate in Son en Breugel on Sunday afternoon around one o’clock. A security guard stopped him when he wanted to leave the store with the computer. At that moment the man used violence against the security guard.
Bystanders came to the security guard’s aid and restrained the thief until the police arrived. No one was injured and the computer (worth 2,849 euros) was not damaged.
The man was taken to the police station. He is suspected of theft with violence, receiving stolen goods and transporting burglary tools. He also had no identification with him.
