Patrik Laine’s season was ragged, but instructive at the same time. The forward’s contract with the Montreal Canadiens expires.

Patrik Laine played only five NHL regular season games this season. However, the man’s employer, the Montreal Canadiens, played a good season and always reached the finals of the Eastern Conference, i.e. among the top four in the NHL.

In the final of the East, the Carolina Hurricanes were better than the Montrealers with a 4–1 match win.

– It was a great season from the guys, that’s how far we got. Everyone should be proud of themselves, Tappara-vasvatti to Iltalehte.

On Monday, the Canadiens players met with the media in the last press conference of the season. The wave was naturally in the center of a lot of attention.

– It was great to be part of this team. There was no need to play, but it was still nice to be part of the action. I’m proud of these guys.

Couldn’t get to work

Laine’s fall season was interrupted by mid-October setbacks, when he was sidelined from the Canadiens’ playing lineup and then underwent surgery due to a muscle injury.

Laine stated to the Montreal media on Monday that he would have been able to play fairly soon after the turn of the year, but he was not blessed with playing time during the entire spring.

– Well, yes, of course it was difficult when there were injuries and then you didn’t really have to play. Yes, it’s difficult as a hockey player when you don’t get to practice your profession, Laine formulated.

According to one source, the reason for the prolonged suspension was a tight verbal confrontation with head coach Martin St. Louis.

Toward the new

Patrik Laine will play somewhere other than Montreal next season. PDO

Laine’s games in the legendary Canadiens have been played. The man’s contract ends. The Finnish goal gun, who scored a total of 224 goals and 422 power points in his career, can negotiate a contract with any team as a free agent.

The athlete believes that a new job will be found easily.

– Are there any takers here? At least it’s not the first concern.

Monday’s media conference officially ended the Canadiens’ season, and the players are off to different parts of the world for the summer.

Laine did not want to say where she spends the summer months.

– It doesn’t belong to anyone, it is top secret.

Vegas Golden Knight and Carolina Hurricanes are playing in the NHL finals this season. The final series starts on June 3 Finnish time, and the new Stanley Cup winner will be known no later than midsummer week, i.e. June 18.
