These are Uwe Seeler’s favorite goals

Soccer legend Uwe Seeler scored goals like no other. Before his death, the clipper looked back on his best hits. The choice was great.

Uwe Seeler has scored more than 1,000 goals in his career. It was difficult for the former thoroughbred striker to name his favorite goals. “I can’t even say which my best goals were, because I made a lot of these headers, overhead kicks or turning shots,” said Uwe Seeler once.

“At the World Cup in Mexico with the back of my head against England to make it 2-2 was of course a spectacular goal – especially after being down 0-2 and in the extreme conditions (final result 3-2 aet),” he added. But when he looked back, important goals, which were perhaps not the most beautiful, stuck in his mind.

Seeler’s Top 3: “The most important goal for me”

Place 3: It was June 15, 1958. Seeler and the German national team met Northern Ireland in the group stage of the World Cup in Sweden. The opponents led 2:1, then Seeler scored the 2:2 equaliser. Germany made it through the group stage but were later defeated by hosts Sweden in the semifinals.
