Of course, all of Zoetermeer is preparing for the municipal elections. Then we can go to the polls again. We do the voting guide, read the party programs very carefully and listen carefully to all those colorful jackets on the street. It’s about serious topics, of course, but there are also striking facts that we would like to share with you.

The coolest election slogan

That can only be one. Short and sweet from the new party GOOD:

No Growth! But Bloom!

Promotional video from bed

Vincent Dullaart of GOED had the bad luck that he tripped on the sports field. The result: a broken spine. What do you do as a candidate when it’s your turn for your promotional video? Then just shoot from your bed.

ALL 13 GOOD: No Growth But Bloom!List 14, place 4I am Vincent Dullaart and Zoetermeer is where I was born and where I live, as well as where I live with my (combined) family. I want to grow old here and this with the people I now have around me. And I work at ROC Mondriaan as a team leader and teacher at the school for HORECA and Financial Services. In the past I have worked as a (chef) cook in various companies and I have been an entrepreneur. In my spare time I regularly act as a referee on the hockey field at MHC Zoetermeer, I think it is important that young people can play sports and in this way I do my part. Born and raised in Zoetermeer, I have often been involved in various (culinary) events in Zoetermeer. It may therefore be clear that Zoetermeer is close to my heart and that I would like to commit myself to a Zoetermeer where everyone who lives there feels at home and happy. Improving the quality of life, infrastructure of the neighborhoods and education are points that really appeal to me and that I am happy to commit myself to. Good does not go for GROWTH, but for BLOOM and that appeals to me!

Jeffrey van Gils, candidate councilor on behalf of the VVD, discusses many reasons why we should vote for him in his promotional video. The moment he tells us that we should not be harassed on the street, he is interrupted for a while.

The youngest

Quinten de Gruijter (18) is the youngest candidate councilor to participate in the municipal elections in Zoetermeer.

Looking for the youngsters

Of course Zoetermeer wants young people to vote as well. Then you have to be visible on TikTok and invite a few cool young people for a nice clip.

Pendants and brooches stay in the closet

Zoetermeer Vooruit uses the municipal colors blue and yellow in the house style. During election campaigns, we see them all dressed in these colors. But now in times of war in Ukraine, the party does not think this is quite appropriate. The colors of the Ukrainian flag are exactly the same. That is why Zoetermeer Vooruit has decided not to wear pendants and brooches on which the party name is not mentioned.

Special voting locations

You can of course choose to vote in your own neighbourhood. But why not look for another place? There are 42 voting locations in Zoetermeer.

We like the polling station at Speelboerderij Het Buitenbeest. Then you can walk around the yard between the chickens and goats afterwards. Or go to the theater room of CKC & Partners if you ever wished to be on stage again.
