Actress Hannele Lauri, 70, worried her Instagram followers today, March 29, with her new update. The actor published a picture of the hospital waiting room and said that he was waiting for the orthopedist’s diagnosis. He later announced on his account that he was going to have hip surgery.
Lauri now tells Iltalehte that he is in great pain. The actor can’t even step on one leg.
– All MRIs and X-rays were taken today. It’s when every step hurts, you can’t live here anymore without the surgery, Lauri says.
The hip has been in pain for a long time, but now the pain has become absolutely unbearable.
– There is no other option here. That hip is in the wrong place.
Lauri says that his hip joint has moved to the wrong place. His hip has probably been wrong since he was born. His other hip was operated on already ten years ago. Now it’s the other’s turn. An artificial joint is installed in the hip.
– Now another one went. It’s going well, says Lauri frustrated.
– In that sense, I’m really happy that I get to have that surgery, because it’s just hell. I don’t take painkillers when they don’t help anything. It doesn’t matter if I take them if they don’t help at all, he says.
Lauri was given a cortisone injection today to relieve the pain instead of prescribing medication.

The actor does not yet know the date of the surgery. However, he hopes that the whole treatment process can be started as soon as possible, because the recovery time from the surgery takes two to three months. Lauri was supposed to start filming a new television series, so he would like to get better as soon as possible.
Lauri says that he is currently using crutches, so even everyday chores seem difficult. Driving a car or visiting a store is not possible. Olga’s dog’s walks now have to be taken care of by her godmother.
– Now I’m waiting for the doctor to call when the surgery will be. I hope as soon as possible. Possibly next month, says the actor.
Surgery is not stressful. Lauri trusts doctors.
– We just have to hope that everything goes well, he states.
Lauri is happy that he will probably have time to enjoy the summer with a healthy hip.
