He is not only one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. Ryan Reynolds shows he’s pretty good at dancing too in new Christmas musical, Spirited (Apple TV+). “It was an experience that you can only have once in a lifetime,” he says to BILD am SONNTAG.
The “Deadpool” star plays a mean PR man in the film. The Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) wants to make him a better person.
“If someone had told me 15 years ago that I was going to do a Will Ferrell movie, I never would have believed it possible,” says Reynolds. “I didn’t negotiate much when I heard he was in. I almost wanted to say yes before I even read the script.”
Now the film not only sweetens his career, but also the pre-Christmas period. And that is very important for Ryan Reynolds, his pregnant wife Blake Lively (35) and their three daughters (James, 7, Inez, 6, Betty, 3).
“I love Christmas decorations and all the lights,” he enthuses. “We live in New York and always watch the ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ during the Advent season. The Christmas preparations are the best for us.”
The celebration of love wasn’t always so exciting for him. Reynolds comes from a working-class family. “There was hardly any money for holidays or gifts. That’s why I usually got my three older brothers’ old clothes or toys for Christmas,” says the actor.
“But at Christmas we were all together as a family. I think back to it often and with pleasure.”
And his daughters should also know that despite 150 million euros in Dad’s account, not everything can be taken for granted. “The children only get two presents on Christmas morning. One from Santa Claus and one from Mom and Dad.” And what’s next? “I’ll be in the kitchen from noon and prepare Christmas dinner.”
