MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez has little faith in Bart De Wever’s (N-VA) statements that his party only wants to enter a government in 2024 if it organizes confederalism. “Politics is mathematics, and today there is hardly anyone in Belgian politics who defends confederalism, not even in Flanders,” he said in De Zevende Dag. “Even for Flanders, confederalism makes no sense, because the challenges are currently at European level.”
