Jan-Mikael Järvinen from Pirkkala heard a shocking news during the World Cup when he had a school dressing in his home town.

The lion player sat on the team’s bus as the news from the tragedy rolled into the media.

– An unfortunate event. Always raises questions when this happens. Something should be done that no one would have a bad mood that they have to do something like that, says Järvinen.

The hockey player does not have his own familiar to the Vähäjärvi school, where the stabbing occurred. However, for some, the tragedy hit more.

– Certainly many would not have to ask until anyone was familiar with. Sad.

Järvinen can now only hope that Pirkkala will provide support for anyone in need.

– Yes, there is certainly a shock. There is nothing more to do here from Stockholm to send a lot to the parties.

Järvinen, 37, has one little child himself. In the role of a parent, he looks at the events of Pirkkala.

– As you start thinking about this through the children, you are even more inside. Certainly no parent would want their own child to see or experience such a close one.

The father of the family would like to see that talking about things in Finland would be easier and more common.

– Although young people are in a difficult age, one should dare to ask about things. We would be a little better aware of each other – including in a circle of friends.

– We Finns are a bit like we are not talking about in the face of compulsion. More openness and support is needed. It’s the easiest thing to fix.
