Tomorrow, Wednesday, there will be five new products in S Group’s grocery stores. The Finnish recipe for success competition has come to an end and the winner has been chosen. Or rather, two winners have been chosen.
The jury voted Rebl Eats’ ready-to-shake salad Shalaati and Kaffa Roastery’s energy drink Kili made from coffee berries as the winners.
They reached equal points, so the jury ended up declaring two winners. This has not happened in any of the previous six seasons of the show.
– Two winners who will surely renew their category, states one of the program’s judges Jyrki Sukula at the press conference.

Rebel Elina Leskinen states to Iltalehte that he learned to work under pressure during the competition.
– I live a family life with small children, so combining family life with tight schedules, where the product had to be pre-pressed, requires stress tolerance.
According to Leskinen, they are renewing the entire salad category with their product.
– This is a salad that can be mixed by shaking, so you don’t have to mess around with little bags. The stores have been missing the shakeable salad that has also trended on social media.
Kaffa Roastery marketing manager Anemone Aaltonen says he learned a lot about the new market.
– At the coffee roaster, we have not known anything about energy drinks.
According to Aaltonen, in addition to the taste, many other things had to be decided, for example marketing and packaging.

– The stores have been missing a product that uses the skin of the coffee berry, i.e. cascara, Aaltonen says.
Director of S Group’s grocery store and one of the judges of the competition Antti Oksa states to Iltalehti that both winning products renew their category.
According to Oksa, both winning products are completely new on the shelves of domestic stores.
Shalaat is a ready-made salad that is packed in a jar instead of a traditional salad package. The ingredients piled up in layers are mixed by shaking the jar.
Kili is made from cascara, a by-product of coffee production. Kili is an alternative to regular energy drinks, because the drink made from cascara does not taste like coffee or an energy drink.
According to Oksa, the competition has created new food phenomena.
– We are proud that we can help small and medium-sized companies take their ideas forward and at the same time bring out the passion and know-how of the domestic food industry, Oksa states.
They were also in the final
Juho Pullin bakery’s Paraski, which is a Finnish bagel baked from domestic wheat, barley and oats.
