A video published by @elproferomero on Threads generated a stir by showing, through an animation created with artificial intelligence, Patricia Bullrich changing t-shirts according to the different political parties she went through throughout her career. The piece, witty and biting, covers his career from the seventies to his current role in the government of Javier Milei. The montage not only exposes his successive changes of political shirt, but also invites us to reflect on his ideological evolution and the context of each stage.

The story begins in the early seventies, when the then young activist joined the Peronist Youth (JPV), a left-wing movement that channeled the revolutionary fervor of the time. In 1973 he actively participated in events such as Perón’s return to Ezeiza, under the most combative wing of Peronism. Her closeness with Montoneros marked an intense period, during which she operated under the pseudonym “Carolina Serrano” before going into exile during the military dictatorship.

In 1995 he aligned himself with Menemism within the Justicialista Party, at the height of neoliberalism in Argentina. As a national representative for the City of Buenos Aires, she supported the economic policies of Carlos Menem, a turn towards the center-right that contrasted with her past. A year later he joined Nueva Dirigencia, the brief project headed by Gustavo Béliz, focused on security and political renewal.

In 1997 he founded Unión por Todos (later Unión por la Libertad), his own party, which reflected the search for an independent space with a discourse focused on individual freedom and security. That path led her, in 1999, to join the Alliance—a coalition of the UCR and FREPASO—that brought Fernando de la Rúa to the presidency. There she held key positions as Secretary of Criminal Policy and Minister of Labor, going through the 2001 crisis.

In 2007 it found a new political home in the ARI Civic Coalition, led by Elisa Carrió. As a national deputy she joined a progressive and anti-corruption space, also participating in the Civic and Social Agreement and the Frente Amplio UNEN until 2015. That year she made a decisive leap by joining Propuesta Republicana (PRO), Mauricio Macri’s party, where she established herself as a central figure. As Minister of Security (2015-2019) and president of the PRO, she adopted a heavy-handed speech that resonated in broad sectors.

In 2015 she also became a member of Together for Change – a coalition between the PRO, the UCR and the Civic Coalition – and in 2023 she was a presidential candidate. Finally, in 2025 he joined La Libertad Avanza, Javier Milei’s space, once again assuming the Ministry of Security. The video concludes with the image of the official wearing a T-shirt with the American flag, a symbol that many interpreted as a criticism of the government’s alignment with Washington’s interests.

The journey shown in this viral animation synthesizes a political career marked by adaptations and transformations: from the revolutionary left of his youth to current libertarianism. The American flag at the closing does not go unnoticed: for some, it represents the dependence of the Milei government on the United States, reviving the debate about national sovereignty and Argentine political identity.
