The verse song stirs up: “Bad version of Käärijä”

Croatia’s recently chosen five-piece song resembles Käärijä’s Cha Cha chata, according to many.

Vocalist Baby Lasagna or Marko Purišić was chosen on Sunday as Croatia’s representative for the spring 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.

Rim Tim tag dim -song has quickly attracted the attention of the five nations. Instagram commenters are of the opinion that the song is startlingly reminiscent of Finland’s representative song last year, Wrapper Cha Cha Chat.

Both Käärijä and Baby Lasagna have named the German band Rammstein as their model. Baby Lasagna’s performance also has other similarities to Käärijä’s wit show: the lights flash in green and pink and the singer’s costume has fluffy sleeves.

The similarities have made some viewers cringe.

Initially, Baby Lasagna was not supposed to compete for the fifth place at all, because the Croatian public broadcaster HRT had left Rim Tim tagged dimin to the reserve. However, when the song came out, it became a pre-favorite.
