The State Department announces a protocol so that Americans living in the country can leave it from Haifa to reach Cyprus
The US State Department has announced the beginning this coming Monday of an evacuation protocol for its citizens and their families in Israel through the sea port of Haifa city.
“The US Government is assisting its citizens and their families with valid travel documents for leave Haifa by sea to Cyprus on October 16″the State Department has indicated in an update of its security alerts.
Boarding will begin at 08:00 local time (one hour less in Spain) and US citizens must arrive at the Haifa port passenger terminal by 09:00 (08:00 in Spain) at the latest.
“Boarding will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and has limited space.”the State Department has made known.
Haifa has not been left out of the war between Israel and Hamas. Last Wednesday, the militias of the Palestinian Islamist movement announced the launch of an R-160 rocket, later confirmed by the Israeli Army, which triggered an aerial alert throughout the town.
The journey of the Americans will end in the Cypriot port of Limassol after about 12 hours of travel, add the US authorities.
