Yellow signs in front of the cycling and walking tunnel at Zoetermeer Oost train station state that the tunnel will be closed to cyclists, scooters and mopeds from Monday 8 May to Friday 15 September. What would that be for?

In the coming months, major maintenance will take place on the bicycle tunnel at Zoetermeer-Oost station (Alderman Jennétunnel). For example, part of the tiles will be replaced, the concrete repaired and the stairs replaced. This work will have consequences for bicycle and moped traffic.
Train stations accessible
Train passengers can simply reach the train platforms during the work. Walking remains allowed in those months. (Moped) cyclists and scooter riders will be diverted, but you can walk through the tunnel with your moped. Between 07:00 and 16:00 there are traffic controllers to show the way every day.
