Swedish skiing star Linn Svahn withdraws from the next World Cups.
According to the Swedish national team, Svahn will not compete in Les Rousses in France this week or Engadin in Switzerland next week, despite having already been named for next weekend’s sprint and 20km.
According to the national team’s press release, Svahn has not sufficiently recovered from the Tour de Ski at the turn of the year. He and his coaches decided to take a break from competing.
– He is too loaded to compete. He focuses on training so that the conditions are the best possible before the World Championships, the release states.
Svahn’s sprint replacement Moa Hansson. At 20 kilometers his place will be taken Evelina Krusell.
Svahn has won 12 World Cup individual races in his career. The best result at this season’s Tour was second place in the traditional sprint.
The return of the stars
The Les Rousses World Cup starts on Friday with the 10 km free time trial. On Saturday we will ski a traditional sprint, on Sunday we will ski 20 kilometers with traditional and a joint start.
Iivo Niskanen returns to the international games in France.
Sweden’s big names are returning to the track, among others Frida Karlsson, Jonna Sundling and Calle Halfvarsson.
