The Premier League match between Everton and Newcastle saw a rare, possibly unique, situation. The viewer slipped into the grass of Goodison Park and attached himself from the neck to the pole.
– I haven’t seen anything like that before in a match, a football reporter Alistair Magowan summed up the BBC in match monitoring.
– I have no idea how he managed to attach himself to the pole so quickly.
The fastener was apparently a cable tie.
– The oversized tongs brought to the scene added to the strangeness of the situation, Magowan saw.
– This person did not get too much understanding from the audience.
After the removal operations, a protester in a Just stop oil shirt was lured into the grass. The match was suspended for about eight minutes.
